Lessons from Sūrah 17 - Sūrat Al-Isrā’

On the Day of Judgement, everyone shall be handed their book of deeds, which will have every minute detail of their lives recorded. They themselves will be able to envisage their outcome that day.[1]
Whoever strives solely behind the luxuries of this world, Allāh will give them whatever He wishes to, not what they themselves want, and then doom them to Jahannam.[2]
Whoever strives to acquire the luxuries of the Hereafter properly, Allāh will appreciate his/her efforts.[3]
Each person will be responsible for his/her own burdens on the Day of Qiyāmah; not for those of others.
Be good to parents.
Make this du‘ā regularly for your parents:
'O my Rabb! Show mercy on them like they brought me up when I was young.’
Don’t go anywhere near zinā (adultery/fornication).
Abstain from using the wealth of orphans [lest you use it inappropriately].
Don’t kill your children out of fear of poverty; Allāh provides for everyone.
Don’t do things without knowledge; you’ll still be accountable for it.[4]
Don’t walk arrogantly.
Allāh has given great virtue to humans over other creations of His.
If all humans and Jinn were to assemble and try to conjure up something to match the Qur’ān, they would not be able to do so.
